As the year draws to a close, we’ll be looking back at some of the biggest moments in music this year, the best releases and as per tradition, we’ll also be searching for that one song that’ll usher us all into 2018. But first, let’s look at the Top 10 biggest South African songs on radio this year;

Radio Monitor an agency that provides music airplay data, media capture and media delivery to major record labels, artists, and performing rights organisations, released the top 100 most played South African songs on radio chart from 1st January to 4th November. Here are the Top 10 biggest South African songs on radio this year;

House music is still the most dominant genre by far on South African radio, even the sole ‘Hip-Hop’ song on the chart, has a house tempo to it. With the exception of Kwesta’s Ngiyaz’fela and Sands’ Tigi, all songs, mostly released in 2016, essentially fall under the house music genre.

Prince Kaybee is the king of the airwaves this year! A massive accomplishment on Charlotte, the lead single off of his sophomore album I AM MUSIC.
