5 Things We Know About AKA’s New Album

Hot on the heels of BCWYWF, his collaborative effort with Anatii, AKA is finally working on his third solo studio album. Three years since the release of his sophomore album Levels, AKA continues to drop solo albums in 3 year cycles. Here’s what we know about his new album thus far;

Work on the album has started with recordings taking place in Sun City all week, together with long-time collaborators Yanga & DA Les, AKA has taken time out from everyday life to solely focus on making music with his team.

The album is titled “Touch My Blood”.

Auto-tune stays; After the release of his hit-singles Caiphus Song and The World Is Yours, AKA has faced some criticism for his overly auto-tuned vocals. From the video clip he shared this week, you can clearly hear a singing AKA on a track in the background, hopefully some bars will make up for the auto-tune.

AKA is collaborating with Kiddominant, the producer behind Davido’s colossal-hit Fall. AKA has always harboured ambitions to conquer Africa and working with Afrobeat producers on this album could be his shot at cracking the continent.

The album is set for a 2018 release, but with the industry moving more and more towards surprise releases, AKA could easily drop Touch My Blood as a surprise at any time. We’ll have to wait and see how Beam Group rolls their first solo project out.
